Follow your dreams

One of the hardest things to do in life is to follow your dreams. People fail to follow their dreams because of fear, fear of not being able to achieve your goal, fear of not being good enough. Our fear of failure has kept many of us from becoming who we meant to be. Instead of being molded by our aspirations, we have allowed ourselves to be molded by our fear.

My dream ever since I was a little boy has been to become an artist. I particularly wanted to become a comic book artist. The fear that killed that dream was that I feared that I wasn’t good enough, that I wouldn’t make enough money to have a family. Years after allowing myself to succumb to the fear of failure I dug up my dream and revived it. My dream had evolved into becoming a graphic artist, a graphic designer. Today I am following my dream and I refuse to let fear kill it again.

I know there are a lot of people who still have yet to follow their dreams due to fear of failure. I hope that this message can reach those people. By allowing fear of failure to kill our dream is only ensuring our failure. Fear is the Grimm reaper of dreams. We must overcome our fear by following our dreams no matter what fear says. If we do not follow our dreams we will end up working for someone who is following theirs. Sometimes following our dreams can demand a lot of us, it takes effort to become who we are meant to be. Sometime we must lose sleep in order to follow our dreams. I pray that everyone that reads this is following their dream and if they aren’t they will start now. Remember you are not the only one dreaming but only you can make yours a reality.
